| Tiivistelmä: | An overview of the history and present global situation of business intelligence and industrial espionage is presented. For this review, information from CIA officials and other government sources are used. Russia and China are not the only countries rifling American technology. The French intelligence service recruited spies in the European branch of the IBM. Mitsubishi's intelligence staff takes up two floors of the PanAm building in New York. Samsung receives daily intelligence reports from all locations where it makes business. Several other examples are cited. It is concluded that business intelligence is being used as a management tool, and to be more competitive, American companies must use it as well. |
