Tiivistelmä:This study focuses on the role of the Audit Commission in local collective bargaining. However, AC is not an official negotiator in the bargaining process. Two different types of analysis are used. The first dataset consists of all 27 Best Value inspection reports. In addition, the second strand includes data gathered from longitudal case studies. In conclusion, the results indicate that AC inspectors act both directly and indirectly to influence the employment relations in British local government.
