| Tiivistelmä: | This paper employs survey data in an attempt to produce a behavioral model of nondurable consumption expenditure. This model is then applied to Australian data for the period 1976(1) to 1994(2). Despite empirical difficulties associated with the attainment of some time series data, the author's results prove encouraging for the adoption of behavioral methodologies in the production of nondurable consumption functions, while casting doubts upon currently accepted rational expectations permanent income model of nondurable consumption expenditure. |
