Tiivistelmä: | This study examines the effects of travel experiences (herein as: exps.) on the autobiographical memory (henceforth as: a-b-m). Using a structural equation modeling analysis, it is found that the experiential factors (here as: e-facts.) of involvement, hedonic activity, and local culture positively affect the a-b-m. of recollection and vividness of past exps. Specifically, the e-facts. of involvement and refreshing exps. are found to increase an individual's ability to recollect past travel exps. and retrieve the exps. vividly. Alternatively, the local culture exps. enhances the recollection of past travel exps., although not as vividly. Based on the study's findings it is suggested that marketing efforts used at the anticipation stage of travel exps. are needed in order to provide memorable travel exps. |
