Tiivistelmä:The research reported in the article involved three stages: 1) the initial design and pilot testing of a preliminary measure of managerial self-efficacy with a sample of managers , 2) administering revised parallel forms of the measure to a sample of first-line managers working for a large retail organisation, 3) the use of the parallel forms of the measure in a concurrent validation study with a sample of junior managerial staff in a financial service institution. Psychometric data concerning the reliability and validity of the parallel forms of the measure have been provided and evidence of the extent to which managerial self-efficacy scores are predictive of managerial performance ratings. The results show correlation of self-efficacy with performance scores.
