| Tiivistelmä: | Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools have received increasing attention, yet only 24 p.c. of companies use them. Is adoption of CASE software being impeded by lack of integration of CASE tools across the stages of the software development cycle? CASE tools fall generally into two categories: analysis/design and development implementation, and they are referred to as upper and lower CASE tools respectively. Two terms commonly used to describe the extent of integration between individual CASE tools are "toolkit" and "workbench". The System Development Life Cycle is described and analyzed. It is shown how several CASE packages were successfully integrated. Some typical problems encountered are discussed. |
