| Tiivistelmä: | The function of music is examined within documentaries produced for news and commentary programmes. A recently developed approach for the analysis of musical discourse in TV fims is detailed. A method is presented to analyze the preferred meaning created by the musical discourse in TV documentaries. The reliability and validity of this method of analysis are reviewed. |
