The evolution of the commercial market from the ancient agora to the contemporary shopping mall and finally to the electronic shopping mall is examined. Shop-at-home television has become a billion-dollar industry in the U.S. More and more time is spent with transactional relationships that permit customers to never leave home, car, or office.
