| Tiivistelmä: | Various models have been used to predict and understand strategic decisions in organizations. This article examines the unitary, the organizational, the political, and the contextual rational. They are conceptualized as stemming from different assumptions about goal congruency and coordinative efficiency. A discussion is offered of disciplines and findings that either support or refute these models. Syntheses and reconciliations of the views are explored. The author calls for a metatheory that places the various perspectives in a larger framework. |
