| Tiivistelmä: | The disintegration of the SFRY and political changes in eastern Europe which coincided with its own emancipation have resulted in serious economic consequences for Slovenia.Gross domestic product in 1992 was down by one fifth on 1987, employment over the same period dropped by 16% and unemployment rose from 1.8% to 15% of active population.Productivity has also decreased so that Slovenia still lags behind the smallest European Union countries - Greece and Portugal.The article analyses in detail the components of the shaping of labour supply (active population), employment and unemployment over that period and takes them into account in making an estimate of the trends in these categories until the year 2000. |
