Tiivistelmä:This paper shown some of the uses in research and marketing that can be obtained for census microdata, a new form of output from the 1991 Census. Census microdata comprise two Samples of Anonymised Records (SARs) for individuals and households drawn fro the Census. The paper is in three main parts. There is an introduction to the SARs, including the background to their release, the main features of each sample and ways of adding value by enriching the data with new variables.
