| Tiivistelmä: | Some of the liability burden has disappeared - but a heavy weight remains. On April 19, 1994, the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Central Bank of Denver v. First Interstate Bank of Denver ended aider and abettor liability lawsuits by investors and other private parties under section 10B of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934. This decision is long overdue and very welcome news to a profession that has suffered staggering liability judgments and paid huge settlements. |
