Tiivistelmä:TQM has become a part of business thinking and its role as a strategic resource remains virtually unexamined in strategic management research. This article examines TQM as a source of competitive advantage, reviews empirical evidence, and reports a new study on TQM's performance consequences. The findings suggest that most features associated with TQM (quality training, process improvement, and benchmarking) do not generally produce advantage, bur that certain behavioral features (open culture, employee empowerment, and executive commitment) do.
