Tiivistelmä:Empirical studies of first-mover effects have been mostly cross- sectional and domestic, focusing on surviving entrants and single market effects. In contrast, this study of one industry examines first-mover effects longitudinally, controlling for market life cycle and entrant survival. It study examines first-mover spillover effects in an international, multi-market context, including both domestic and foreign entrants. This endeavor illustrates the importance of careful first-mover examination of first-mover effects covering multiple markets, and control for measurement timing.
