| Tiivistelmä: | Since the E.C. Merger Regulation (ECMR) entered into force, the law and practice of Community merger control has received considerable attention among professionals, academics, politicians and the public. The basic provisions of the regulation are now well known, and the number of publications examining the various problems is huge. The author had the privilege of spending five months of his legal education with those officials who deal with merger control within the Directorate-General for Competition (DGIV). The observations made from this insider-outsider perspective might shed some light on the work of a machinery. |
