The authors of this article take readers step by step through Discovery Driven Planning, a practical tool that acknowledges the difference between planning for a new venture and planning for a more conventional line of business. A key element is identifying unconscious assumptions embedded in an original plan and systematically testing the validity of those assumptions. The approach imposes disciplines different from those used in conventional planning.
