| Tiivistelmä: | Will Russia be able to service its foreign debt in the longer term? In April 1996 Russia reached agreement with the Paris Club, in which government creditors are organised, on a comprehensive rescheduling of its foreign debt. In November of the previous year agreement had been reached with the commercial banks organised in the London Club on the principles for comprehensive debt restructuring. In the short term the rescheduling agreements can be expected to facilitate Russia's access to international money and capital markets and thus to improve the financing conditions for both the private and public sectors there. |
