| Tiivistelmä: | Even during the stagnation of Brezhnev, Alec Nove was drafting a blueprint for "transition" out of the Soviet-type political economy. He was one of the clearest exponents of what would be quit , but, for considerations which many shared, the transit was into "feasible socialism". Gorbachev's perestroika and the union of worker and intellectual movements in Poland which led to the establishment of the first non-communist government of the Eastern Bloc were still years ahead, but Nove was already seeking for the system for the then USSR "that can reasonable be expected to function with a reasonable probability of avoiding both despotism and intolerable inefficiency". |
