| Tiivistelmä: | These personal notes summarise a series of the perspectives and actions taken in Geneva in connection with the author's assuming the role as Deputy STR and Ambassador-in-charge of the US Delegation in Geneva in August, 1977. It was the author's role to take charge of these negotiations, which had been under way for some three and one-half years, move them toward a definition of what end results might be negotiated and then complete the negotiations with 98 other countries prior to the expiration of our Congressional Negotiating Mandate in 1979. |
