| Tiivistelmä: | In this article, the author draws attention to the almost contemporaneous contribution of Marvin Frankel (1962), "The Production Function in Allocation and Growth: A Synthesis". The model in Frankel's paper is of the "AK" variety, where the aggregate production function is linear in capital due to externalities at the firm level. Frankel's paper has lain unnoticed for the last 26 years. The author asks why Frankel's paper attracted so little attention at the time and why it has remained in obscurity for so long. |
