Tiivistelmä:Two major areas relevant for marketing in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) are being discussed in this article: the competitive situation in the transition countries and the basic competitive marketing tools for penerating these markets. Findings of a survey including 139 Finnish and 97 Austrian companies active in CEE are reported. The study confirms that competition in CEE is intensifying but still weaker than in Western markets.
