Tiivistelmä: | This article examines 'ensuring a strong person-product relationship' (hereafter as: r-ship.) as a design strategy to postpone product (here as: p. - for 'products' as: ps.) replacement. If a person experiences strong r-ship (etc.) with the p., this can result in more protective behaviours towards this p. and in p. longevity. A crucial precondition for a long-lasting r-ship. is that consumers feel the p. is irreplaceable. Designers can encourage the p.'s irreplaceability by stimulating the formation of memories associated with a p. or by creating unique and personal ps. |
