Tiivistelmä:The paper suggests that a new world order of care is needed in the aging world. Fertility rate has decreased while life expectancy figures have increased significantly. All over the world elderly care work is organized within the family, most often unpaid. However, a larger portion than before is paid rather than unpaid. At the moment men are under-represented in eldercare: the new policies should be considered to include men as carers. Men receive care from partners but women receive more care from female relatives. A comparison between Germany, Spain and Sweden shows the similar gender patterns though the role of the state in supporting care differs as do the workers' conditions.
