| Tiivistelmä: | The author compares alliance activity in Europe and in the USA. Insights about the effectiveness of firms in these areas dealing with alliances are provided by examining the alliance experiences and the quality of alliance management. The results show that in the USA there are a higher number of alliances as well as better quality of alliance management. American firms have also adopted more alliance management practices than firms in Europe. Some long term trends in the European economy however indicate that the European companies will soon catch up this difference. |
