Tiivistelmä: | This study examines and compares the US and European human research development (HRD) research articles using a content analysis of the articles published between 1990 and 2003. The analysis reveals differences in the orientations and methodological approaches between the US and Europe. The study suggests that the US literature, in comparison to Europe, is more practice-oriented, evidenced by having a more prescriptive and less critical approach to the study of human resource development, while European literature has over time become less practice-oriented and more empiricist. The US literature is characterized to be more nomothetic and universalistic. |
