| Tiivistelmä: | This paper investigates empirically how the transition to a market economy affected the relationship between motherhood and labour force outcomes in Poland. Different probit models are estimated on two panel datasets covering a three-year period before the reform and a three-year period after the reform. The findings indicate that during the transition young children were much less of a deterrent to the employment porbability of their mother than they were before the transition. |
