Tiivistelmä:One interpretation of globalization as based on a convergence in world tastes and product preferences is presented. The global firm is one which capitalizes on this trend, producing globally standardized products. In doing so it gains efficiencies of scale that enable it to undercut the prices of more nationally oriented competitors, including multinational companies that adjust their products and practices to individual national markets. At the same time ample scope will remain for firms which base their strategies on particular national situations.
