| Tiivistelmä: | There is a number of publications dealing with the Japanese as well as the American way of management. The Swiss contribution to the managerial practice is rather neglected, in spite of the very good performance of the Swiss economy. The main characteristics of the Swiss way of management are as follows: 1/ the integrity of different functional areas, 2/ the co-operative style of work within staff, in task forces, 3/ the power of indirectly applied, professionally strong authority, 4/ the comprehensive nature of informal connections that do not depend on hierarchy, 5/ the pragmatic orientation without ideological burden, 6/ a conservative trait, that is giving preference to the proven methods. |
