Tiivistelmä:Based on an actual industry sector,an approach to strategy formulation is indicated. Consideration of the major exit barriers in end game environments is a prerequisite for plotting a company's strategic position vis-a-vis competitors. Identifying the Net Investment üDepretiation Ratio and the rate of cash flow generated from existing assets can provide the key coordinates necessary in plotting strategic position. The competitive advantage highlighted by plotting their strategic positions will enable their exit strategies to be chosen on the basis of strength and weakness. The possession of a large market share need not necessarily equate with a competitive advantage.
