Tiivistelmä:Differences between Chinese and U.S. human resource management systems with respect to organization, performance, rewards, training and development and educational background of human resource practitioners are described. The key differences presenting impediments to the modernization of human resource management in Sino-U.S. cooperative ventures are identified. A normative framework for the introduction of modern human resource management practices into these ventures is presented. Implications for research and practice on integrating the enterprise with social and economic goals, are concluded.
