Tiivistelmä: | Hierarchical structures are examined to show their effects on interpersonal relationships of the leader. Human closeness and distance is defined within the relationships of superiors and subordinates. Leadership is viewed within the framework of a social construction of human relations. The dimensions of the self-determination of a leader are reviewed. Statements of some Swiss leaders about their interpersonal relationships are cited and commented. Loneliness as a consequence of some personal characteristics is explained. Its preconditions and necessity are examined. A few conclusions are drawn. Leadership must not be seen as a competition for popularity. |
