Tiivistelmä:The existing research on managerial third parties has described the roles managers play but has not discussed the implications of those roles for type of resolution or perceptions of procedural or distributive justice. The typology of managerial third-party dispute-resolution behaviour drawn from prior research is compared to the behaviour of management students playing third parties in dispute-resolution simulations. The third parties' behaviour is evaluated against standard measures of procedural and distributive justice. It is shown that the role a third-party manager plays has implications for the type of resolution achieved and for the disputants' perceptions of justice.
