Tiivistelmä:The traditional business school model is widely used, despite the fact that it is quite ill-suited to the needs of the next century. Several critics of business education are cited. Business schools' resistance to change is described. Bureaucracy on campus is characterized. The contribution of business school faculties to the crisis in management education and low managerial performance is considered. Too few faculty members have substantial experience as managers. The publish-or-perish bias is disapproved. New conceptual framework for management education in university-based business schools are urgently needed. An alternative school of management is sketched.
