| Tiivistelmä: | The present paper is a survey of a special segment of scheduling literature in which the due date assignment decision is of paramount interest. (1) The static job shop is analyzed from two different perspectives: a) the due date is greater than or equal to the makespan; and b) the optimal due date and sequence are determined when the method of assigning due dates is specified. (2) The literature on dynamic job shops is also divided into two parts. a) Studies concerned with comparative and investigative works. b) Studies dealing with determination of optimal due dates. |
