| Tiivistelmä: | The European Court has ruled that it is illegal to import sound recordings from a Common Market country where their rights are exhausted into a member state where a longer protection exists. It was announced at MIDEM'89. IFPI president welcomed this decision because it will put an end to exploitation of different copyright protection periods within the Common Market. It can also pave the way for the harmonization of copyright duration. |
