| Tiivistelmä: | The Automated Guided Vehicle System (AGVS) concept was first applied on a large scale to manufacturing in 1974 at a Volvo plant in Kalmar, Sweden. AGVS has emerged as an important part of material handling in Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS). This is due to the fact that AGVS provides the flexibility and adaptability required from a materials-handling system in an FMS environment. |
