| Tiivistelmä: | Management Information System (MIS) is a necessary precondition for any effective operation and strategic management. The most important targets of a MIS are summarized. A case example is presented to show how a planning system can be developed on the basis of a MIS. The planning system of the Hille and Mueller Group (Dusseldorf) has been designed and implemented on a a personal computer basis with the application of standard software products. The main components of this planning system are sketched. A short cost-benefit analysis is provided. The competitive advantages obtained by the system are described and analyzed. |
