Tiivistelmä:The contingent relationship between organizational structure, control and information systems sophistication, and size is investigated using more than one measure of size (i.e.) employees, sales and capital). Two aspects of organization structure - "structuring of activities" and "degree of decentralization" are studied. The sophistication of control and information systems are measured in terms of their internal and external orientation. The hypothesized relationships were largely supported in an empirical study except that no associations were found between the measures of size and structuring of activities. Some theoretical issues are explained and some practical implications are considered.
