Tiivistelmä:Though the automotive industry throughout Asia is growing rapidly, market size, stage of development, consumer preferences, and government involvement vary markedly from country to country. Investment prospects differ, too, though new investment in the auto business is flowing swiftly into the region. One real question facing the industry in most of the region is: Can the local markets absorb such explosions of capacity fast enough to justify all the investment pouring in? In India, for example, most of foreign auto companies setting up assembly operations intend to produce cars that, while cheap by international standards, are far more expensive than popular models currently available.
