Tiivistelmä:The paper presents a new approach for identifying the core competences of a firm. A competence portfolio with a customer value and a competence strenght dimension helps visualizing core competences and possible areas for outsourcing. The importance of basing outsourcing decisions on transaction cost analysis is stressed.
