| Tiivistelmä: | The paper examines the determinants of Japanese, American and British foreign direct investment (FDI) in East and Southeast Asia from 1985 to 1994. There are business / firm oriented variables, macroeconomic oriented variables, and Kojima's theory applied. Results tentatively suggest that Kojima's contention may be partially correct, but strongly point the way to further research being made at the micro level of the firm due to ambiguities entailed in using micro level data. |
