| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this chapter is to describe the land-value taxation in Hungary. First, the author studies the land taxes of 1917-1921. Second, he considers land reform 1921- 1947 and land policies under communism. Further, the author describes post-communist land programs and the Hungarian Henry George Society - MHGT. MHGT was formed in 1989 as an independent association and tried to introduce a law concerning land-value taxation in cooperating with the political parties. The author concludes this chapter with statement that the MHGT asserts that the exercise of both common and individual rights is essential to a society based on justice. |
