Tiivistelmä: | Globalization as a strategic option is characterized. The importance of international cooperation is emphasized. An internationalization portfolio matrix is presented with the following two dimensions: advantages of an international product strategy; advantages gained from a successful adaptation to the local market demands. Arguments are provided in favour of international cooperation. Recommendations for the partner selection, the cooperative behaviour, and the strategy-oriented incentives are made. The key attributes of a global company are described and analyzed. The role of network structures in the international competition is highlighted. An extension of the concept of the firm is suggested. |
