| Tiivistelmä: | Some big OTC swaps dealers are suspicious of the exchanges' plans to develop collateral management systems, having rejected their previous attempts to set up a swaps clearing house. The dealers fear tighter regulation but, as the use of collateral in swaps transactions increases, the exchanges - and some banks - hope to offer cost-effective, convenient and secure collateral depositories. For years, futures and options exchanges around the world have looked on enviously as volumes in over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets have multiplied. |
