| Tiivistelmä: | A crucial question to ask is whether the Central and East European countries (CEECs) have embarked upon a catching-up process. This question is vital for any realistic prospects of integrating Central and Eastern Europe into the European Union (EU) over the next ten to fifteen years. This issue is also relevant for forecasting likely trade patterns between CEECs and other European economies, and more generally, the place of CEECSs in the international division of labour. This paper takes a macroeconomic view of CEECs growth prospects. |
