| Tiivistelmä: | The authors of the article consider the political and economic conditions in the post social countries. The authors state that one of the key questions of post- socialist transformations concerns the position and role of former holders of monopolistic social power, i.e. members of former communist elites: in other words, whether and to what extent they were able to retain key social resources and thereby continue to influence the development of these societies. In view of this, there are two interpretations of post-socialist conditions. The paper also provides a substantial list of references on this subject. |
