| Tiivistelmä: | Since it was founded as an ironworks in Winterthur in 1834, the Sulzer enterprise has become a byword for technological progress. The companies comprising the group established in the 1960s operate in close proximity to their customers with branches, representatives or agencies in 120 countries and production plant in another 30. The article describes the founding of the group, its development and its current activities. It is clear from the outline of its location, portfolio and marketing policies that Sulzer's future as a global technological enterprise is secure. The paper focuses on questions of strategy, innovation policy, organization, project management, corporate culture and management concepts. |
