| Tiivistelmä: | The intention is to show that the software engineering technique called data analysis has a useful part to play in the production of the data structure needed for software development for operational research systems and that its benefits apply as much to small, in memory data structures as to the large, external data sets for which it is normally used. An introduction to entity-relationship modelling is given. The use of the techniques of data analysis is begun by considering the familiar problem of critical path analysis. The model in the second example comes from the field of simulation. |
