| Tiivistelmä: | It is argued that the common purchasing and supply management practice of evaluating supplier performance (here as: perf.) may be not appropriate in situations of supply partnerships because it focuses on evaluating the perf. of the supplier rather than the supply relationship (as: r-ship/s). A conceptual framework for supply r-ship evaluation (as: evaln.) is explored, discussing lessons from past attempts to develop r-ship evaln. models, with a particular focus on the so-called Relationship Assessment Process (RAP) model (by Lamming et al., 1996). The article critically evaluates the RAP model, discussing experiences of implementation starting from 1995. Building on the reflections on RAP, a new conceptual framework for supply r-ship evaln. is proposed. |
