| Tiivistelmä: | Management development (MD) is often neglected in companies. The services of an appropriate MD-system to management succession are described. The role of management succession planning within the framework of personnel policy is examined. It is shown how promotion is based on performance appraisals, qualification, training, and some other characteristics of candidates. A PC-aided MD-system is described which efficiently combines personnel policy assumptions with technical requirements. The system is illustrated with some details of the PC-aided MD-system of Schweizerischer Bankverein. |
